"Chan e sin a tha seo a 'ciallachadh" - Purify yourself in the waters (of Lake Minnetonka). - Gaelic Proverb

A lifetime ago, a number of us went to Minneapolis and what it lacks in fun, fine dining and culture it makes up for in concealed carry laws, volume dining and beer. The overwhelming favorite of our group was the Summit Pale Ale, which was enjoyed with some regularity due to the quality of the machines under testing. However, this beer is completely unavailable outside Minnesota (and the finer parts of Michigan). This year, after some trials on my part - along with cajoling the brewery - I was able to re-create this brew and re-visit some long forgotten times (which despite my description was quite enjoyable).

Summit Brewery describes this as: Bronze in color with a crisp back balanced against strong malts, this brew has been recognized several times throughout it's 34-year life. World Beer Cup (Gold, 2x Silver), Great American Beer Festival (Gold, Silver, Bronze)

Grains are from Ontario (Barn Owl Malts) with hops from the US (Yakima Valley, WA) with American Ale yeast (US-05). This does get better with time, usually peaking around 21 days.
